I have a Singer 66 (I guess it's called) and a Singer cabinet. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get the machine into the cabinet!

I've tried over and over until I can't hold up the machine anymore. The hole in the swiveling piece on the machine doesn't line up with the peg and even if it did, the hole tapers so the peg wouldn't go in more than a fraction of an inch.

It looks like the hinges in the cabinet need to come out and the ones on the machine need to be screwed to the cabinet? Is that correct??
