Our church makes our prayer quilts about 45 by 54, but the quilts are not necessarily for people in wheelchairs - just people in need of a lot of prayer.
I am 5'6" and 36" is not long enough. I just checked with a quilt in progress. Yes, I am in a wheelchair part time.
Not everyone in the nursing home is in a wheelchair. When I took students there for work experience last year, most of the residents were in bed, so a throw size like I'm making would work for them. I made lap robes for the nursing home 30 years ago. I'll have to put them back on my list when we get a supply done for church.
