I was just thinking about how last deployment went. All was well for the first three weeks... then my water broke six weeks early and I ended up in the hospital with complications. Five days later, my daughter was born (with no family at all around to help)by ceasarian and the hospital made an error and sent me home the next day to a two year old son (who my neighbor had to watch since I had no family around) and a premie. I spent two days eating left over pizza and no drugs because I was too afraid I would not be able to take care of my kids. My aunt drove 16 hours to get to me. (My mom was snowed in here in Colorado and we lived in northern Washington at the time.) A couple weeks after my daughter was born, her lungs started to collapse and she got dilated intestines (from a massive viral infection.) She was in the hospital for a month. Fortunately, I had just arrived back in Colorado and my family was able to help me out. I guess a fridge going out this time pales in comparison.
