Have any of you ever tried the recipe for making the "Best Press" at home? It seems it's just cornstarch, water, and essential oil scent. I was wondering if it gunked up the iron sole plate.
Here is the 2 recipes I have for "Best Press"
Pressing Spray or linen water
2 cups distilled water
2 oz VODKA
a few drops of essential oils (I get mine from Walmart near the potpourri)
1-2 tablespoons of liquid starch
Mix together in a spray bottle. I have used this with and without the starch. Even with the starch it doesn't flake like the canned starch and sizing tend to.

You can also use liquid fabric softer to make your own “wrinkle release “. Just mix it with water 1/3 or 1/4 in a spray bottle, lay clothing flat, spray lightly, smooth or lightly tug up and down, then across the width. The inexpensive brand works as well as the name brand.
