Don't know your exact route so...
Holmes County is the Amish Country here..cheese shops, quilt shops (Miller's in Charm), Lehman's Hardware in Kidron (Hubby will love it). Just the countryside is beautiful to see while driving. If you need a place to stay..Berlin Village in Berlin (they have a website, but you must reserve on the phone)..REALLY clean, comfy, and very very reasonably priced.
Columbus has all the urban stuff. You might be able to catch a baseball game at Huntington Park or sample a few beers in the Brewery District. Have dinner at Schmidts in German Village. Our Zoo is fantastic!
The Air Force Museum in Dayton is amazing. Cincinnati has the Freedom Museum, Reds Baseball, andmany sights along the Ohio River and riverboat rides, dinners, etc.
