A light weight , new, kitchen towel.... fold in half either length-wise or width wise, stitch around leaving an opening to pour about 2 to 3 pounds of rice into., stitch shut. Stick it in your microwave for 30 seconds or up to 2 minutes, depending on your microwaves heating abilities. These rice bags hold their heat for a long time. Bag made square is nice for backpain as you can flatten it out and lay on it. The long way allows you to wrap it around your neck/upper shoulders or around a sore knee.

Somewhere I used to have a poem that went with it. Probably could google it and get something.

You can make one of these in about 2 minutes. Its quick!

Lots of experience here with cool ties (just sent 45 to Afghanistan!).

How do you make your hand warmers?
I just sew 4 1/2" squares turn and fill with long grain rice..I liek pinwale cordoroy or a good thick flannel... microwave for 90 seconds on high
