IF you decide to make a (DRY-CLEAN ONLY) quilt be sure to put instructions on the label so whom ever winds up with the quilt will know it has to be dry cleaned.
i made my sil a wonderful crazy quilt, velvets, wools, silks, satins...embroidery & embellishments...
it has been washed a few times without mis-hap....it is not thrown in the laundry weekly or anything like that but gets washed a couple times a year...
just make sure you document laundry instructions. ( i put laundry instuctions on every quilt i make, just like if someone went to the store and bought it )
