:D Painter's tape can be used in so many ways. It's basically the only tape that does not leave adhesive residue on your fabrics. I found out the hard way that masking tape does leave behind adhesive. I use it to mark straight line sewing on the quilt top, hold my backing fabric and batting firmly in place while pinning the top down and the list goes on and on. And adding a teaspoon of vinegar to heavy-bleeding fabrics like reds and navies will set the color and help prevent that bleeding.
