I have the electronic ones but still catch mice in the trap not a foot away from it. Country mice are smart little buggers! I refuse to use the poison as I found dead mice all over the house the year I did that and we had a rat die inside a cold air duct ug what a smell! and no way to get him out!
I alway thought that they went outside to find a water supply and once they drank the water they died.
I am freaking here I NEVER had mice when I lived on Long Island and when I had the first one in Ohio I as ready to pack up and move.
They can find water in your home, fish tanks, sinks, toilets and some of them just died wherever they were, I even found one on top of the washing machine.
