I bought Maytag 3000 series front loader about a year and half ago and we love it. It uses so much less water, it is amazing. That was an issue for us. Our DD and two young teen-age DGS live with us so we do lots of laundry! Have not had any problems with smell or mold on the door seal. We have done nothing special to care for it. Have never used the washer cleaner that came with it. Don't have time to pamper appliances. We kept our same Maytag electric dryer that we've had I don't know how long. I think this is the third washing machine we've had the same dryer. The clothes are so much dryer coming out of the front loader that it makes your dryer more efficient, also. Good luck with your decision! There's alot to chose from out there.
