Hi Kip,
When sewing your Star sections (completed rows that make up your Star) together, do not sew all the way to the end. STOP at the seam allowance. When you have them all done and made into your two sections, place them as usual... front sides together and sew your 1/4 inch seam as usual. When you lay out the completed star and turn over to press, the center should "fan out". It will look like a miniature spiral flower! Press all long seams of the completed star in the same direction!
