I couldn't find my quilt center that I made weeks ago. I have spent the day going through every box and container in the bunkhouse that my little hands may have put things into. My next plan was to head to the Post (since I am going in for an E board meeting anyway) this evening and look through THOSE boxes, since I clearly remember putting the center in the box with the little mini mystery quilt which I cannot find either! After looking frantically enough to work up a sweat, I calmed down a bit, contemplating my next plan of attack. Should I make another center, should I wait until tonight after the meeting? SHould I make another center JUST in case I can't find the center at the Post? oh, decisions, decisions!
As I am pondering my next move ... what shall I do? Is it time for a cigarette out in the shop? Maybe the cattle need watered ... I happened to look up at my - - what is that board called where you put things on to look at for awhile? It is insulation board covered with flannel? You know what I mean? I had been eyeing that carpenter's wheel block hanging there for weeks, but they weren't as good as the one I wanted to send.
FINALLY! I decided ... from a distance, and in the dark, that block looked pretty good, so I might as well use it ... and hate myself for the rest of my life because I am such a dweeb!
I unpinned the block, set it up on the lounger to take a picture, and did a double take ... why that block looked EXACTLY like the block I wanted to use! closer look .... hmmm, that IS the block I wanted to use! Well, isn't that just wonderful????
it is one of those moments where I thought I was wrong, but I had made a mistake .... wouldn't you LOVE to spend a week around me???? ROFLOL
When I do stuff like that my dad likes to tell me I'm working with half a brain. And I can't tell you how many times I've done something like that. It often has me wondering if I really am working with only half a brain. :-P
