I would not want to spend time cutting 3 inch strips down. That would be the stuff of nightmare to me. Why not just buy some fat quarters or yardage if you prefer something other than 2.5" ? You can almost always find the yardage of fabrics that are in the pre-cuts if you really want it to match.

GOOD idea. I was kind of thinking about Kansas Troubles different collections. There are many which would combine well, but not keep repeating. OK, how my question regards making the "rays" or whatever they call those "petals." Sounds like you have made a Dresden Plate... Don't folks use charms to get those "rays?" I thought I had read online someplace THIS is what folks do these days. OBVIOUSLY, I'm not experienced. If I'm going about this wrong please, PLEASE set me straight.
