I know what you mean when you talk about this day of simplicity. I set the table for dinner yesterday with the fine china, including the bread plate, and no one knew what it was for! Oh well, it looked pretty anyway. Your idea is a good one though if you don't plan on using the linens on the table. They will probably be beautiful in a quilt.
