I had thought about that ~ I've never sewn triangles before but there is always 1st time for everything! I will do that if no tutorial or link is found.

Personally I would say "who needs a pattern!" just use the original as your pattern, if you feel you need more to go by, photo copy the placemat, then cut out the triangle, add a quarter inch seam allowance and you will have the size you need, viola new template! Have fun making them, I would love to see what you make.
