Personally I would say "who needs a pattern!" just use the original as your pattern, if you feel you need more to go by, photo copy the placemat, then cut out the triangle, add a quarter inch seam allowance and you will have the size you need, viola new template! Have fun making them, I would love to see what you make.
Could always do half-square triangles by sewing 1/4 inch from a diagonal line, cut on the line and then add a larger piece where the triangle goes and trim to the correct shape. It's a cute placemat.
