I print shipping labels from the USPS.com website all the time. When you print the label, half of the printed page contains "Instructions" and #3 of the instructions says: "If tape or glue is used, DO NOT TAPE OVER BARCODE. Be sure the edges are secured."

Sounds like your post office needs to read their own rules.

This to me, just seems WAY TOO PICKY!!!
