Hi and welcome from Idaho. I agree with some of the others, try your local quilt shop or quilt guild and take a class if you can. Seek out other quilters and you will find one willing to help. I don't know where you are located but I know there is a very nice quilt store, that does classes, in McDonough.
Everyone here is more than willing to answer your question if you strike out on your own, do not be afraid to ask.
