Walmart sells a Brother for under $400. The limitation is that it is only a 4 x 4 hoop embroidery field. It has lots of built in stitches and is also a regular sewing machine. Brother sells a lot of cards forit or you can buy a blank one and write to it with Ped Basic, which allows you to download a lot of the free stuff out there on the net.
