Sally,

I too started quilting in high school. That was also 40 years ago. I have no idea how many I have made. I probably have at least 30 in various shapes and sizes around here that are for me. I routinely give them as gifts and donate lots of Linus quilts, quilts for soldiers, as prizes for guild or other fund raisers etc. I am trying to make at least 5 Linus quilts a week lately in an effort to clean out some of my stash. The chairity items are usually entirely machine made. I have handquilted probably 50 bed size quilts for money. I make tote bags out of scraps and leftover batting that our local Senior center sells. Last year I made purses for all of the females in my family for Christmas. I use my embroidery machine to make pillows, shirts and pillowcases for gifts. etc. etc.

Sewing is what keeps me going.
