You'll know your a quilter when you've given your seam ripper a name. Mine's name is Jack. I reverse engineer a lot of blocks. Finding the "sweet spot" where you have an accurate 1/4 inch seam helps a lot and many of us use a 1/4 inch bladed foot. I find that pressing helps a lot.
