I grew up on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. I totally know seagulls <g> ...
I was used to seagulls going inland when there was a storm (one of our indicators, if you will) ...
Imagine my surprise when we moved east of the mountains, into the high desert and there are TONS of seagulls up here, too! (my surprise was not the pleasant kind, either)
some bright-eyed dreamer decided they were endangered and these birds live here quite nicely - - on the seeds we plant in our fields to feed people and cattle ... it is really awful to watch the planters out in the fields with the seagulls swarming their seed beds, with nothing these people can do to protect their crops.
oh, well ... someday, those endangered species may be the only food supply we will have, so I suppose I should be glad they are well-fed, eh? LOL <wave>
