I made one for my grandson called Brick Road that I got from one of my older quilting books. You stager the bricks. I made mine with flannel. You can can use scraps.

They used fat quarters I bought the colors in yardage and cut my own squares because it was less expensive. It is so good for a man. The book gives measurements for crib to queen. Maybe the pattern is on the internet.
