No real trees for me, they cause asthma problems.
We have a 3' artificial tree that we put on a table where its
safe from large happy dog tails. All the ornaments are homemade, some of them are quilt blocks. I put lights all over and try to decorate the whole tree(otherwise it falls).
Years ago we had lots of glass ball ornaments, then the big, happy pointer/dalmation mix wagged them off about 1/2 way up the tree. We'd only had small dogs and little dogs don't have big long tails that wreak havoc.
