You can knock off a couple hours of cooking time in the crock pot by pre heating the crock and lid with boiling water before adding the food. For roasting meats in a crock pot, make big aluminium foil balls and layer the bottom of the pot. Put your meat on top of the balls. I spray the balls with Pam to keep the meat from sticking to them. This keeps the meat out of the juices.
