Depends on the type of quilt and materials you've used. I sometimes add washing instrutions to the label especially if it's one that is better hand washed, usually just something like," hand wash with care in luke warm water using a recommended wool wash, Airdry out of direct sunlight"
Types of quilt I do this for are hand pieced, hand quilted, wall hangings with bits that wouldn't do well in a machine wash and quilts with a wool batting.
