Oiling a machine..........I oil mine every time I use one. I feel like you can not over oil it by putting a drop where the metal touches metal. Sometimes I will go a while between oilings but I stay on top of them if I can. But remember I have 19 machines in the studio that I can use at any time, so I try to juggle around which machine I use for which ever quilt I make.
