Recently, I bought a "bark cloth" cotton. It is a retro 50s/60s print, heavier weight, very nicely textured, a yard sale price in a red & white print about a 70/30 mix. What a find. Mostly, I wash my fabrics prior to storage and used a CC. The red did bleed onto the white which is now a paler shade of pink. That is okay but it sure is a forewarning for the future, maybe even with the CC (washed again) that when I use it for the scrappy (personal) quilt backing there might be another bleeding. No troubles, I will just leave it alone and not reach for the retayne.

Recently, went to a quilting demo and found out that some who are creating the fabric postcards save their used CCs. for a back ground.
