Now that we are old(er) and retired, if DH bought a new vacuum cleaner (or other useful tool) for me (us), I would be pleased. (Assuming, of course, that is was a decent brand and model)
He did surprise me with a TV for my sewing area one year - and that was the year I didn't get anything for him :oops:
It seems that our wants and needs change over the years.
We both come from "peasant stock" - so better jewelry is a seldom purchased item that is a "big deal" to both of us.
