Yesterday I read a post by someone hoping to get some "heart" quilt blocks (or even a quilt top) for the families of the miners who lost their lives in a recent mine explosion.

I started cutting out hearts to applique last night and have come up with enough to create a quilt top.
My question - why sign the back of the block? .... (many of you talked about signing your quilt block on the back) As I am picturing this, I can only see this signature being hidden by the batt and backing. Would it not be better to enclose with your shipment a note that may or may not be passed along to whomever receives the finished quilt? your thoughts please.. :)
