My son who lives in San Francisco, spent the day taking me to quilt shops...one beautiful piece of fabric was priced $7.50 and when we went to cashier, I had misread, it was $75.00, (Italian import)! There are no quilt shops, you have to travel out of SF, but great little fabric stores with great prices and wonderful selections. Berkeley has a great shop, Stonemountain and Daughter, I believe it is called, on Shattuck St., right around the corner from the University, also a discount shop with great prices near the Stonemountain. Britex, yes, narrow 4 story, of course, it is a SF building. Best place to find fabric, NewYork, when son lived there, he would fly me in and take me all over, and included the "Strand" Book store, and scouted all the Quilt books and said, Happy Birthday, fill a cart, it's your's.
