Kona cottons are fabrics with a good quality but for me they are a little to coarse. I always try to find fabrics with a higher thread count (as far as I know the Konas has 60x60 per inch, I try to find a 75x75)like the P&B brand or Moda Bella Solids.
Kona widemuslin (backing) fabric comes in 200 count, 108in wide, at $8.98 per uard (only in natural and white, I believe. I am currently quilting a wholecloth, using that as backing, and the printed fabric for the top. Now I have looked at the back of my quilt, and it isn't as good as the front. I presume you are intending to quilt from the back, following the printed design, but wanting your new back to be the top? Your quilting would have to be much more even than mine for it to look good.

Edit, just checked, it also somes in 120in wide at $10.98 per yard (Hanckcocks of Paducah catalogue)
