It is wonderful that you gave so much and there is nothing more comforting when you are alone in the world than a quilt. For those of you with a few extra dollars, after the xmas sales in early January, there will be lots of children s coats, shoes, socks, mittens, hats etc. Especially at WalMart, Kmart and Target they are reasonable to start with and dirt cheap after those sales. One year I called the shelter for sizes and one of the items purchased was a pair of those pink tennies that flashes when you walk. They tell me the little girl refused to take them off and showed them to everyone that came in. Meant more to me than the $100+ gifts I gave to my own grandchildren. They also need shampoo, lotions, toothpaste, brushes, etc. visit your dollar store. Just think that many of the people there fled with just the clothes on their backs, kids without shoes in their mothers arms. They need everything!
