I have two painted turtles both taken from wild when babies then people wanted to put them back after ten years and I took them Zoo and Vet here both said they wouldnt survive one winter here especially if it gets as cold as it sometimes does One year we had forty below for two weeks The third is a Central American Land Tortoise same thing again and I knew he would never survive our winters
