I made a bunch of trivits that can be enlarged to make a potholder. The trivit was based upon a 9 patch-pattern. Inside I got some heat resistent material for the batting.

Once I find my pattern I will let you know the dimensions...this is where I always get into trouble. :(

Ok, I'm back and the place is messier but I found it. Each square is 3 1/2.

Strip piecing: 3 strips of 3 1/2 from fabric 1 and 2
3 strips 3 1/2 inches of a solid coordinating fabric

strip set 1 use fabric 1, sew solid fabric along the long edge, sew fabric 2 along the long edge of the solid.

strip set 2 use a solid strip, sew a strip 1 toe the long edge, sew another solid to the long edge.

Use rotary cutter to cut these into 3 1/2 segments.
