Mine was a 100% cotton.
If it is enough for a quilt backing - it is a good place for it- I had one identical pattern, but in blues - and it turned out beautiful on the back of a quilt - I thought I'd "hide" the fabric, and instead, once it was quilted, it was my favorite side!!! Quilting gives it a whole different look.
Also, if you do any patchwork quilts, if you cut it up you'll find it works great that way also - you lose it's original effect, and it becomes a whole different look by adding it in with other colors.
