I used to run into this a lot when I first started painting show cars. They would want me to justify a $10,000 paint job. After explaining the amount of money that the materials cost and the amount of time it took getting the body ready for paint they sorta understood. Now its a joke with a lot of my clients and friends that if you have to ask me how much it cost for a paint job you can not afford me.
Funny thing is now $10K is a very cheap price for a paint job and is what I normally charge to paint a bike for.
So you might need to adapt that philosophy, "If you have to ask then you cant afford me!" :mrgreen:
