some people just do not know much about the time and materials needed to make a quilt. That said, a friend of mine who is a single mom, had just lost her job, and was really in need. We were at a church sale, and I wanted to buy something for $2.00, but had left all my cash at home. She saw that I wanted it, and took out $2.00 and bought it for me. I told her that I would pay her back right away. She would not hear of it, and said that it was a gift. I insisted, and she said that I could just make her something, like a quilt. I guess that she saw the shocked look on my face, because she quickly said that perhaps I could make a small one so she could wrap it around her grand child. Now, she had no earthly idea as to the work that goes into making a quilt, but she was so gererous in giving me her last bit of cash, that I did not hesitate in making her a quilt. Yes, $2.00 is a give away price for a quilt, but that kind of friendship is priceless.
