Yes, this.
And for me I'd post something like "first to post here, gets it!" because then others see that it's taken. And also, kinda a record of who got it.
Of course, some people like to keep things private so they may not want to "call it" publicly. That's ok, too. They can just pass by stuff I'm giving away!
