A friend of mine just gave me a pre-cut quilt kit. It is to be appliqued and is a cute Sunbonnet Sue kit. I am just learning to applique and not sure how to handle this kit. Normally, I would turn under a hem on the applique pieces but this one doesn't call for that. I want to hand applique it and plan on using the blanket stitch. I am just worried about fraying around the edges of the applique once it is washed.
What do my quilting friends think?
