when i do sunbonnet sue's i put light weight fusible webbing on the top of the fabric (after drawing sue piece on the fusible non bumpy side) and cut on the lines i drew. then slit the fusible and turn right side out. that makes the bumpy fusible side now on the back and the raw edges inside that. i fuse to background fabric and do a blanket stitch or other.
