The finished project may very well shrink after you have wash it but that's only one of the reasons for pre washing your fabric before using. We also want to remove the chemical residues and sizing that the dying process adds to
the fabric. Many people are allergic to these items but the thought of a baby snuggling against unwashed fabric and breathing in who knows what really scares me.
