Are you thinking of using the handkerchief as only the little pocket and the rest of the mug rug from other fabric? That's what I see from your description, if so I don't have a tut because I have never done this (so here is my advise anyway) Fold the hanky like an envelope sewing your envelope down with the top pointed part face to face with the mug rug, in other words the envelope opening on the top to stuff wth tea bag, spoon, etc..
