This very thing happened to me last weekend! Somehow I quilted right over the pin (one of those 2" flower head pins) without breaking the quilting machine needle. I found the pin the hard way when sewing the binding on. Ow!
Luckily I'd quilted the quilt in long wavy rows and with some finagling, was able to work the pin to the edge of the quilt without having to rip any stitches. It took some "doing", though!
What a nifty idea of breaking the pin head with a hammer. I wouldn't have thought of that! :mrgreen:
