I don't think it's sad. It's human nature. What a weird world we would live in if everything we did was appreciated.
This is coming from someone who has spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on soldiers (and, who loves one soldier in particular).
There's also the possibility it was purged posthumously.
That said, I would have bought it. How much was it?
