I have a Pfaff Grandquilter 18.8. It's a longarm. Got a book on longarming and learned a LOT. One thing was that if your top thread is breaking, besides the usual thoughts (is it threaded right, is the needle bad) she said you need to oil the bobbin area. Not just the thing the bobbin goes in, but the area where the bobbin and it's case go. (gosh I wish I could remember what that's called). Anyway, today I go out to practice some freestyling and the dang top thread started breaking. I tried everything that we've discussed....finally, almost ready to tear the machine apart (literally), I remembered what she said and I oiled both bobbin areas. WOW!!! I played and played and played and the top thread did NOT break again!!!!!! I thought maybe this would help others....it sure helped me!
