Congrats on your new frame!
I think everyone has a different approach to this....but me personally I like to do most everything freehand....if I were you I would start with just some muslin on the frame and do some practicing....just to get the feel of what you are dealing with and while you are practicing you will be able to try out some of your own personal ideas and designs.
