On these particular towels I cut a black band from 100% cotton fabric 1 3/4" wide, folded it in half and pressed it. I placed that with the raw edges to the raw edges of the towel. Then I placed the fabric, right side down, with the raw edge even with the raw edges of the towel and the black strip. I sewed a 1/4" seam. Press the decorative fabric down away from the towel and the black strip. Flip over and turn under the edges of the decorative fabric and press. bring up the bottom pressed edge just a tad over the stitching line and pin in place. On the right side...edge stitch on the side and down the front of the towel just below the black band to catch the back side of the decorative fabric and hold it in place. It's hard to explain but super simple.
