I love sewing.... I think I have already became obsessed with it. If I'm not cooking, cleaning, tending to the kids, or the husband... I'm sewing... If I'm letting my sewing machine take a break and cool down I'm reading a book or cutting more fabric to sew. I am always doing something I can't stand to not be into something.... Sounds like another confession!
No, you are not obsessed with quilting...if you were you'd say to heck with the cooking, cleaning, kids, hubby and whatever else gets tossed in! I'd say you have found a good balance!! Enjoy it!!
I have to agree with that 100%. Although I absolutely love to quilt, my children & husband are priority, and I don't just do what has to be done, I try so very hard to make time for my children and enjoy them while they are little. They are growing up so fast, I don't want to miss out on the little things involved in their childhood. I think the little things like reading, playing games, and tucking them in bed at night (to name a few)are the things they will remember the most.
Around 3pm the sewing machine gets shutdown for their arrival from school..... I guess thats why I didn't take up quilting or any other hobby until they were in school. LOL I have 3 (all boys) ages 12, 8 & 8. The 8's are twins!

I really appreciate that you said that, it is a good balance. Mommy's have to have some kind of escape/ treat for themselves. I could get my nails done or go to the spa, but the truth is simply........ I'd rather be quilting!!!

I'm so glad I found this board. Fellow quilters are so easy to relate to.
You could be my twin! (though I may be a bit older). Except I started 4 years ago, and my 3 boys are now1 @ 19 and my twins just turned 14. But like you, when school is out off goes the machine, but in-between watch out Fabric! Totes of quilts , toppers, and you name it, they will eventually find new homes but what a treat to make. I would much rather quilt then get nails and ect.... done too....
Enjoy..............We could be doing WORSE things................
