Don't know what your aunt's mental state is but for my mother-in-law when she was in the nursing home and had dementia including a few pictures of the family (her childhood) on her quilt seemed to please her.
I'm not entirely sure either, I haven't seen her since she had a stroke a year and a half ago. I feel bad that I haven't been to visit her, but life got busy and I plan to deliver her quilt when I finish it.
